  • Adjenai (ah•juh•nay) is an LA-based musician and writer.

Having spent their adolescent years traveling with nomadic parents, Adjenai's music is inspired by a desire for connection and communication. Adjenai writes about the intricacies of the human experience, the relationships we form, and how we impact each other. Pulling sonic influence from contemporary R&B, blues rock, and alt-pop, Adjenai's genre-blending music feels like calling a friend after a night out — a hazy, frantic expression of sincerity.

Adjenai is a Hedgebrook writing residency alumna with words featured in publications like Jelly Squid and filling Station. They are the creator of “MENTAL.”, a limited-run zine highlighting and interviewing queer/BIPOC creatives on mental health, intersectional identities, and art.

Currently, Adjenai writes and curates playlists for the monthly “Feelings” newsletter and is co-producing their debut record set to release in 2026.
